Our Mission

Living Beyond Limits offers vital integrated mentoring programs for the blind and vision-impaired community. We facilitate positive interactions through education, training, empowerment resources, and social networking, which are crucial to living a rewarding life.

About us

Living Beyond Limits is a 501C3 Non Profit organization. Melva Henderson, the founder, composed her life experiences as a visually impaired woman to create an organization to assist others in achieving their life aspirations. Through her compassion and confidence in the blind community, she is dedicated to bringing awareness, vanquishing misconceptions, and advocating for upward mobility. Living Beyond Limits uses a comprehensive person-centered planning approach to meet each person's needs.

Who We Serve

Living Beyond Limits supports blind visually impaired men and women 18 years and older through engagement, encouragement, and education. According to the Center for Disease Control, approximately 7 million Americans live with vision loss or blindness. Unfortunately, many American people who experience vision loss are uncertain about the resources available for the blind community.

 Our Motto

The blind can lead the blind.

We are aware of the lack of understanding about the blind community. We hope to bridge the gap, build connections and experience opportunities the world has to offer. Our services are led by experienced and trained professionals who are BVI. We believe it is imperative to live a rewarding and liberating life. Our purpose is to remove barriers, create solutions and expand possibilities so people with vision loss can achieve their full potential.

Living Beyond Limits is a unique nonprofit organization. We are committed to the blind community by providing personal and professional development resources. We provide supportive mentoring programs and educational training opportunities to ensure the needs of our consumers are met. Living Beyond Limits services are resources to empower and influence healthy living despite a physical disability.
